Telangana's Record-Breaking Beer Sales 🍻
In Telangana, it seems that the local saying, "Drinking isn't a habit but a tradition," has been taken to heart, with beer sales hitting sky-high figures recently. Over the past 18 days, from April 1 to April 18, the state recorded a whopping sale of ₹670 crores worth of beer. That's a surge of 28.7% in beer sales compared to the previous year, with a total of 23,58,827 cases sold. Officials attribute this spike not only to the current election season and scorching temperatures but also to the ongoing wedding celebrations across the state. With May just around the corner, expectations are high for even greater sales figures, potentially pushing annual liquor revenue in Telangana to nearly ₹30,000 crores. Analysts predict that if the trend continues, the boost in beer sales could significantly impact the state's economy.
