Telangana announces 48-day summer holidays for schools from April 24
Students in Telangana are finally getting a long break as the government has announced **48-day summer holidays starting April 24**.
Schools across the state—including government, aided, and private institutions—will reopen for the new academic year on **June 12, 2026**.
In simple terms: summer holidays are here early and long.
The decision comes as Telangana continues to experience **intense heat**, with schools already running half-day schedules since March 15 to protect students from rising temperatures.
Why this matters: extreme summer conditions are directly impacting school routines, forcing changes in academic calendars.
Subtle system angle: while schedule adjustments offer relief, they also reflect how climate conditions are increasingly shaping education systems and daily life.
Officials have also allowed schools to conduct **extra classes if needed** to complete the syllabus, balancing safety with academic requirements.
For students, it’s a mix of relief and catch-up—but for now, it’s officially holiday mode.
